The Chester & North-East Wales
Organists’ &
Choirmasters’ Association (CNEWOCA for short) exists to
promote
the organ and its repertoire and to provide events and forums for
Organists, Choirmasters and all who enjoy listening to organ and choral
music. The Association was formed in May 1998 and the need
for
such an organisation has been borne out by the very large
membership. Events are held from September to July/August at
different venues within West Cheshire, Wirral, Wrexham and Mold areas,
with occasional events in Flintshire, Denbighshire and Conwy
Borough. Members receive a monthly Newsletter containing
articles, details of the forthcoming event with directions to the
venue, the dates, venues, etc., of events organised by or involving
members and of organ recitals in Chester, Bangor and St. Asaph
Cathedrals.
The Association is affiliated to the Incorporated Association of
Organists enabling members to receive the Organist’s Review,
delivered to their home each quarter, at a reduced price.
Membership (including Spouse) costs just £15.00 per annum
(September to August) including the £4.00 I.A.O Affiliation
Fee. Young people, and those not in employment, pay only
£9.00 per annum.
The Association’s Constitution requires all events to be open
to
the public, therefore a Retiring Collection is taken at each event. A
donation, as an expression thanks, is given to the host church and this
is a minimum of £30.00 and is increased to £40 from
October
to April to assist with heating costs.
Why not join this active organisation? It is the
perfect
place to meet-up with friends, make new ones and to share their
enthusiasm for the King of Instruments. Download
